Working with Special Needs Children in Out-of-School Time

The Special Kids Network (SKN), in collaboration with the PA Statewide Afterschool Youth Development Network (PSAYDN), invite you to learn more about special health care needs services available to afterschool, out-of-school time and summer learning programs. The SKN is a program funded through the PA Department of Health, which serves children and youth with special health care needs, by helping their families get the services and support these young people require to thrive in the community and develop to their full potential. The goal of this webinar presentation is to ensure that all children and youth are included in and have access to afterschool programs.

Advocacy vs. Lobbying

Informing policymakers about the importance of afterschool, out-of-school time and summer learning is a major part of our work. Yet, we know that as non-profits we must be careful about what we say and what activities are appropriate. This webinar will teach you how to learn to differentiate between advocating and lobbying. Join Nikhil Pillai from the Alliance for Justice organization as he reviews the criteria involved in making the case for an issue without running into legal trouble.
