DeVos' Lips Sealed on School Choice Program

Trump's first spending blueprint would pour $1.4 billion into school choice policies while shrinking overall discretionary funding for the Education Department by 13 percent, from $68 billion to $59 billion. "Our focus is on helping support students where it can be most effective and most impactful," DeVos said during a Q&A session at the Council of Chief State School Officers' legislative conference in Washington. She continued: "It's a little bit early to talk about details, but I think conceptually what we'd like to see is whatever is rolled out at the national or federal level is to enhance what's going on in the states."
